when you hit a sweet spot in the cave, ore will appear in your inventory. if stones are landing on the ground, it's a dead spot.

most likely the skeletons are from people killed by wildlife, the forest is a dangerous place

The Battering ram thinks otherwise :P

By stones falling to the ground, what do you mean?

Stones will drop under your char while mining a tile, they are most common in dead spots. :)

If a tile has ore, it gives ore. If it doesn't it drops stones. 100% chance in each case. Mind you, you could be 1 tile out from an ore vein, but that's still not the ore vein.

Thanks for clearing that up... Now I've just got to re-find the caves my buddy seems to always stumble across. :)

Well, I ran around for 3-4 hours (combined time lol) trying to find a cave... Finally found one, couldnt find a spot weak enough. Forever later, I found one with weak enough spots, but by the time the hour glass depletes, im "Too tired to mine".

I'm starting to think that I've either messed up and spent too many LP on useless things, or I'm destined to be stuck in the stone age... lol

I had a run in with an unfriendly on the river. He blocked my boat, and then it sounded like he was destroying it while we were afloat, so I took off... He chased me for like 15 minutes haha. Guy had a bear mask and a sword, trying to kill a guy with a fox hat (that he didnt even kill). I'll catch him down the road though when it's a more even fight.

I've got my Herbalist table up finally, drying some "Hemp" and Tobacco.

It seems like the only thing holding me back, is my lack of metal. :(

It's a shame too, my one-man-town looks a lot further along in development than 3/4 of the places I've come across (not counting the obvious Cities that clearly have like 10+ people), and I've explored a shitload.

If you've got any mountain areas near you, go digging for some better q stones to make a stone axe with. Get your strength up. These will both help you when mining. Ways to increase Str are eating (of course), Bear tooth talisman, Bear cape, and, my favorite, getting totally drunk. Also, if you haven't found mountains nearby, check the stones you chip in caves. These can have quality better than 10, too.

That is not bad. If the hour glass finishes and it says you're too tired to mine, it means that you finished mining once (every "hour glass" is one mining attempt) but you're too tired to mine again. Even if you're too tired to mine after the hour glass ends, you're still going to get either a stone or ore (or nothing, but restore stamina and keep mining until you get something).

Yeah, I tried the stone thing... Dug around the only mountain I know the location of after the unfriendly at the river backed off. Nothing but Q10 stones though. :(

THe specific node can spawn anywhere, much the like clay nodes in shallow water I assume? The rocks on the mountain seemed to only contain Q10 aswell, is that true for every rock in the game?

So if my stamina runs out, like 3/4 through the first hourglass, it'll actually complete that attempt?
