it can take up to 2 hours for them to reaggro sometimes :?

2h? can someone confirm this? longest I ever had to wait was like 20 minutes.

Last world I had and auroc take close to two hours to reaggro. I was taming two at once. The first one took normal amount and the second took close to 8 hours.

Damn... Seems like people could use a tamer.

My usual taming "rotation" is just to charge to enough ip then battlecry twice, consume flames and done, it doesn't really matter anyway, it's all trivial compared to the wait time between them, but assuming I can just force it then I guess it doesn't matter

Ah... Battle cry twice.
Good for aurochsen, instead of skulding 3 times.
Thanks!

Edit: Nope. That requires 21 IP, while 3 skulds require 17 (you can even use sting like a bee, which doesn't damage you)
My way is better.

Call down the thunder until 14IP, Sidestep, consume the flames, Tame.

My way is better. :3

Ffs I don't like consume the flames.
Make a sting like a bee method which takes less than 17 IP, I dare you.

Taming in world 7

Postby dariun » Sat Jun 22, 2013 1:47 pm

Hi all

I've just tried to tame some mouflon and am having a nightmare.

I use call thunder to build points, side step 3 times, consume flames then quell which gives me the number 20 above the sheep. I then run away to no longer aggroed, come back sling a different sheep to reaggro them all then proceed to repeat process with the original sheep.

However the counter when quelling has never gone above 20, I've tried this with 3 of them so far...what am I doing wrong? :(

Thanks for your help!

Hello Dariun,

Your mistake is: you move too far away, your rope will no longer be attached to the mouflon you have tamed up to 20%.

At first, it does not matter to be in combat with the whole herd. Simply fence them all in properly and keep atleast two in a seperate cage. Start taming one to 20% and straight on, without losing combat to anything, head on to the second one that you placed seperated. Once you tamed this one aswell(make sure you keep wearing the two ropes), just wait for them to both be back in combat and start with the first one again. Once they are both tamed, let them leave their cage and bring them home.

You do not, at any moment, need to deaggro the other mouflons.

But, it's much faster if you leave combat and re-aggro them.

To OP : Don't hurt the one you're taming, it'll reset the process. And don't un-equip your rope.

Hi Oksel, hi Fanit

Thanks both for your replies.

I do leave combat to speed it up but as mentioned the gauge stays at 20.

Thanks for the suggestion Oksel, do I simply wait for the purple bar to disappear before re engaging in Thundering the sheep?

Oksel, I don't sling the one I'm taming nor do I unequip my rope so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

I can give you small hint. Have 5-6 of them from herd you plan to tame in one spot (signpost them), while try to bring one about 30 tiles away. Start tamming one of those 5, meaning, you will have aggro of them all. thunder it, blablabla, quell = 20 points, then move towards direction opposite of the one and lonely standing 30 tiles away just a bit, so you don't loose your "rope - line" but you do loose aggro with that 1 individual. Then just move back, thunder that 1 individual and you gain aggro of all those 5 again, continue tamming.
W8 - Hermitage
W7 - Emerald City
W6 - Gomorrah
W5 - Pandemonium
W4 - Angkor
W3 - Angkor
