There are enough developed villages around - so trade either a good sling or bear tooth/antler shouldn't be that hard...even without idol and i guess there are enough villages that would do a local trade for blueberries or such...or fetching logs...

Also it's a matter of patience - it can take up an hour to kill a bear with low q sling and low mm - but it works...

Then I say vidol require bear teeth. (Not to mention deer, which is even harder). Finish. Go to step one. Do you see fail in your logic?

Just because you suck balls at this game doesn't mean everyone does. Look at your join date. Enough said.

I built vidol in a week as well. And I am totally new to the game and do alot of mistakes. And I dont trade. This topic for noob hermit. And if you out of arguments, you shouldnt measure your epeen in posts, join date etc. I dont care, tbh.

When I built my idol in the first week, I was a hermit too, amatuer. In fact 75% of my entire time playing this game was spent as a hermit. So know what the fuck you're talking about/who you're talking to before making yourself look clueless again.

Join date doesn't matter. You could have been playing two years and never posted, so when you make that first post, that's when it shows. Still... quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, must be a duck.

Sevenless was suggesting a method for minimizing the hunter's exposure. High quality slings and bows are the best way to do that. When hunting with ranged weapons, pushing Perception up helps, too, as the damage formula takes into account the shooters PERC and the defenders AGI (believe bears have 200, deer 100). It's really not that hard to get a high quality sling. The hard part is getting the good axe (q50+) so you can have high enough leather and strings.

Just because YOU choose not to do certain activities doesn't eliminate that as an option. Part of providing good help is to let players know of all the good options (and sometimes even the bad ones). It's not hard to set up trade as a hermit. The deer will be the hardest part. (If jorbtar ever gets animal AI fixed properly, it might be near impossible for a single player that don't know all the combat tricks.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

It was you who suggested to build vidol to get q100 sling to reasonably kill bears, not me. Who is clueless here? If you dont know the fact that you barely feel the difference between q50(you can craft yourself) and q100, then who is amateur? Stop shitposting, put a reason and numbers in your posts, instead of "i play for ages, seen all and i am god amongst men".
My suggestion - kill 2 bears, whatever it takes, make q50-70 sling and then farm bears and trade bears. And q100 sling is absolutely wrong buy here. What exactly constructive you just wrote aside from retarded logic and stupid bragging? No wonder your amount of posts, then.

I'm not even bothering to read that crybaby temper tantrum up there lol. I know for a fact that you can (i have many times) kill bears and deers with a q9 militia sword or bronze sword and 10 melee. If you're too fucking stupid to know how, then too bad

Shallow water, CDTT, OKx4, KTTO, try again. I already did it. On first week (where do you think I got my antlers?) New to game. You really post too much crap.

Did an argument really start over the quality of a sling?

*scratches head*

Killed my first bear with 10mm, 10q sling and patience this world. I figured we were long past the baby steps here and moving onto the "what next" stage of hermit life.

You get enough teeth for an idol from a single kill, and the materials to make a q30-40 sling fairly easily if you repeat once more. Hermits basically need trade because the quality of tools/foundation they can trade for very cheaply far surpass what is likely left unclaimed near them.
