Well, I do give a warning, but most people aren't as nice.

But seriously, people, go mine for LP, it's much faster and not nearly as environmentally destructive.

Well, I'm not a miner really (not advanced enough), but I don't really cut trees for LP. If I'm killing my leafy friends, it's so I can build something which hopefully serves me or others to some degree.

What would you say your thoughts on building wilderness safehouses are? I know I'd sure appreciate having a house to escape from bears/boars into, but I dunno if it's worth the environmental costs.

Building stuff you need is fine, converting large swathes of forest into grassland just for LP is not. Animals are rare enough as it is, the last thing we need is mass deforestation.

I did kinda clear cut where my farm is now, but I'm doing the very best I can to preserve the surrounding forest, and also working on my herbalist table (damn plant fibres are taking a year and a half to grow) so I can replant. I think that's a good policy. Every tree I cut down for my home should be replanted in a deforested area.

Also, can mudflats be transformed into forests if enough trees are planted? I'm not necessarily interested in doing that, but I was curious about it.

Well yeah, you obviously need to clear an area for farming. I'm just saying you shouldn't clearcut for LP alone. People that do that tend to destroy huuuuge areas, I've seen entire regional maps completely void of trees in previous worlds.

And yeah, you can convert mudflat to grass and then plant trees to make forest, but make sure you're not foresting over an acre clay spot, as mudflats can't be restored after they're terraformed.

its not. houses degenerate too, so unless you plan on doing a round every week to repair houses, at some point they are just gone. Another player suggested this once and got a less than welcome reception (hasaosan still around?)

Holy crap that's a lot of trees. O_O

I love how dynamic this game is. It's seriously too cool to exist, but it does.

Ah, that is true. What if it's by like... a fishing spot or something I and others frequent? That would be well maintained, and a good hidey place from the beasties. Well, a river is good enough in that instance, but... how about near a clay node?

This -,

Get MM to 20

Build Boat

Kill Bear
Craft Coat + Talisman
( optional ) eat Bear Meat

Str approx around 60
_

Find Water, build 2 Chests
Go AFK fishing, 30 Minutes per Chest
Cook Fish, put Chest in Boat

_

Find Cave
Find Lake in Cave
Get Boat to Lake in Cave
Get Bucket + Drinking Vessel

_
Mine
Find Weak Spot
Mine
Mine
Mine
Drink
Eat
Mine
...
Refill Water with Boat in Lake
...

etc

approx 50 LP ( at full change ) every ( dependent on the hardness of the wall ) 4-15 seconds, so if you mine a while for soft spots, sooner or later you'll find one - which equates to about a max of 1000 LP per minute, realistic are probably 500 ( which is still 30000 LP per hour ).

If you've got time on your hands get yourself a chair and regain stamina 50% by drinking 50% by sitting and waiting - not that hard on your food supply then.

___

No risk involved - and even a chance to find Ore.

i'd still say no to building houses just to shelter from bears or boars. Only if theres a place you go to all the time, you could. Otherwise its just a waste of materials. Also, you wont find many beasties on mudflats in the first place

download the gilbertus client, not for the hacks, but for the biggr screen, so you see them comming earlier and can change course
