I'm not questioning your observation. I'm questioning your conclusion.

Will see about dropping some Yew tree's, and see what happens.

So, we all know that trees randomly convert terrain around them to their native forest terrain.

But do all trees convert at the same rate? I'm asking because I've had some mulberry and apple trees planted for a few weeks, and there has been no terrain transformation around them, while I've had some birch trees planted about a week, and there is already noticeable terrain transformation around them.

my conclusion is its either a bug or loftar's (or jorb's) oversight on coding yews. it may get fixed sometime, but it is changing the tiles into broadleaf ones currently. another yew i had planted just converted another coniferous tile into a broadleaf tile in the middle of coniferous forest.
(pretty sure yews are supposed to be native to coniferous, but the data the server is sending us isnt.)

nope, they are all random, just like tree decay hits.

loftar > Well, perfect opportunity to fix the yews now that the server was down anyway.

my experimental yews planted in broadleaf forest are going to grief me now!

Forest tiles are the only ones where tree grow at their "normal" rate. There are two different types of forest and thus 2 different types of trees. Broadleaf and conifer.

Nothing grows natively on grassland. If the area has grassed over (or you're on natural grassland), it will eventually convert to the appropriate forest type as the trees grow. I suggest birch or elm if you're on grassland. That way, if you ever want to start silk production, you can easily start up mulberry trees.

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, and I simply was unaware, but it appears that not all trees terraform the terrain around them as they grow. I'm talking specifically about apple and mulberry trees. I've planted around 20 over the course of this world, and I don't recall seeing a single terraformed tile. I've planted several birch trees right next to them as an experiment, and they terraform as they grow.

Having a bit of trouble understanding this as the equation does not come out right or I am doing something completely wrong with maybe my skill levels being low or something.
But to set out my problem, I have q14 Pot, q34 Soil, q13 Water, q10 Table, q10 Table. I plug all this in and get around 20 or so, but everything I'm harvesting on the tree itself
is only q8. Really needing help with this as its bugging the crap out of me! My only other option to think of whats wrong is that my Survival level isn't high enough..

Survival hardcaps the quality of gathered/foraged goods. Trees and cattle that are not fully grown give lower quality materials until they finish growing.
