no, not really. still pretty accurate, but not complete. the moves that were "balanced" need to be updated properly. The animals, as far as I can tell, haven't been changed otherwise.

@gogis: you really should work on using bloodlust and oak stance. These change instantly, so you just make sure you switch out of bloodlust before the boar makes an attack. (swap at about 75 attack meter). Anticipate some lag, though. Nothing like getting hit with bloodlust on when you're fighting keeping your defense meter up. Having either of those on is a much better boost to combat performance than just using dodge which does absolutely nothing, even if you do have a crappy delta. If you feel brave, toggle on Death or Glory for a tick or two to get an extra IP here and there.

Yeah, I revisited my tactic completely, I totally missed the fact that I can use maneuveres and compensate maluses with moves. I use 3 stance combos now

Gaining defence
Oak + Jump
Gaining IP
Death of glory + FLAB/Seize
Gaining attack for finishing
Blood + Jump

Now I dance between first 2 stances, use Skuld whenever possible (DoG generate IP crazy fast, so it's very fast to gain 5 advantage), then when I gain enough IP I quickly spam some knocks and finish off with KtTO. This way is so much faster, like 2-5 minutes if I dont screw up.

This guide is almost build around flex, but now that flex makes you lose advantage, should I still use it? Or is there some other move to use now instead?

You should not use it. Use jump instead.
But the guide should get updated, it's much tougher without flex.

How does defense effect armor wear? I know that armor has 2 ratings, deflection and absorption. Do those get checked before, during or after my defense skill check? I want to start fighting foxes and boars on land soon as their running away is a pain from a boat but I don't want to replace my armor constantly.

If u take off all ur armor then get hit, that's the dmg used to calculate how much dmg ur char and armor gets.If ur capable of winning against an animal, u wont NEED armor for hunting. By the time ur getting dmged u r probably losing anyway. But remember, wear armor. That steel or leather spent on it is much less important than ur char.
Oh and armor does not affect ur defense weight, only the actual damage u get.
anyway by reading guides and getting sufficient stats every animal is ez.
Also, boars are slower than 3rd speed so u can use that to get IP and oppknock them which makes boar the animal that need
the least stats.

So if my defense never reaches 0, me or my armor won't take any damage?
