You put in only 1 branch (or one coal) and then wait a minute more (just to be safe) than you would normally wait if you put in all the fuel.
After you wait that, light the branch and voila, it will be done with 1 branch. (and it can't burn)

Pretty sure calf drinks no milk.
Think it's 8 hours for 1 stage. 2 stages: Meat, then skeleton.

1) The decay time of an animal is +- 8 hours, So you need to skin & butcher it between that time if you want the maximum of items out of it.
2) And the calf will only drink cow milk, so if your cow has some nice q of milk, the calf his stats will slightly raise

sure, but how much? I would like to see my calfs alive, but also I want to take some cows for milking. So, I need to know, how many cows with low milk Quantity stat wiil fead them.

AFAIK, cows don't drink the milk you use for stuff, cows drink 'virtual' milk. Like, you can't milk a sheep, but they still have milk quality, because that's what the young drink.

No, when we have lots of calves, our cows are always low on milk. They drink 5L/day and cows can drink sheep milk, and also milk from a barrel.
