So i want to start a UA alt (just to try it :d). If I craft a shield, how many damage will it block? Or is it useless?

Shield is for Melee Combat. For UA you don't need a shield.
So, shield enables you to use the Shield manuever, which is the Melee version of manuevers you use when you go unarmed.
Without a shield, your Melee Combat is useless when someone punches you, and your UA counts. If you have 1 UA, and go full melee, say 100 melee, someone with even 5 UA can destroy your defense in one hit if you don't have a shield.
Edit: Oh yes, and when you have 100 melee and use shield manuever, your defense is same as 125 UA and dodge manuever.

Most people seem to go 100 ua / 30 melee combat ratio or something close to that at the moment to use moves with ua and only use sting with melee

Thijssnl, I went like 60 melee, 100 UA ratio so I can land very powerful valorous strikes. Genius in ganks because your friends finish him off, and genius in movement combat because it practically counts as if it was a W6 movement sting. (bam goes his defense because of the power of valorous strike)

Can cave flora (ie: stalagooms, cave bulbs, glimmermoss...) spawn in mined areas/former wall tiles, or do they only spawn in natural tunnels? Also, are there natural tunnels in lower levels?

Only in natural caves, and caves only exist on the first underground level.

You sure?, I remember a picture here where someone showed a bulb spawning in a level 5 cave.
Could have been some sort of joke, but did not seem to. I allways had the doubt.
