That's basically what makes wagons useful.
Just put 4 raft particles in a wagon and you can cross rivers.

Not really for travel. Running and swimming is faster.
However, very useful for good ol' backdoor poaching.
Grab a sword, a wagon, and kill boars and deer (and bears if you can) on-land. A lot of them can fit in the wagon so it's a good hunting trip.

build raft parts - drop in cart - go to cave lake - put 2 raft parts into boat - go island as there's not enough space to assemble raft at lake shore - repeat - load boat on raft - go with raft to shore - unload boat - load cart - go island - unload cart on island - go back ... enjoy fishing platform

It's 1 person. I got away from Vigilance once like that.
While you're on a raft, you can't get killed by anyone melee (if they try to disassemble it you just move a bit)
You can only get killed by archers.

Hi, I'm new, but I'm thouroughly enjoying the game!

I just have one question: I'm trying to fish, but I'm not getting anything at all (I'm using a rock lobster lure, and have a woodfish and some leeches handy). Does the fact that I'm not getting anything have to do with the "nodes" I'm hearing about?

EDIT: Also, around noon my time today (IRL), I got enough materials for a log cabin. I understand that I have to wait for a full IRL day to start building it, but does that day-long timer start when I get the final materials ready or when I post that little sign thing?

first of all you didn't said you have string
secondly you need node and that means you need to see fishes jumping on water surfece in area to fish there
third and most important if you fish on non-alive bite (rock,wood) don't count on fish every 10 seconds... more like 2-3 mins
