Is the lowered agility from using nettle pants/shirt + leather armor/boots/pants worth it? The combination nearly cuts me in half at the moment.

Yes, it is to a point. After that, the small extra increase isn't worth compared to other gear you can get. (What's a couple points when you have 150 UA?) When you compare the agi loss to other gear (plate can be -20 or more), it's not really that much. The big help early on is with raiding ants, though. Enough UA and you can just raid the ant hill and not worry about kiting them off.
