I decided to try growing a birch tree but I'm confused. I used the wiki instructions and made the pot, fired it, then got the water and soil, and the catkin from a birch tree. I went to put it on the herbalist table but it wouldn't go in there and it appears there is a sprout already in the pot? I tried to plant the sprout but it wouldn't go into the ground? What do I not understand here? I'm already in a birch forest.

If you lost a character on an account, there will be a runestone in the character creation room. Click the runestone you wish to inherit from. If there was no runestone, either you used the wrong account or there's a problem. Once you inherit, you'll spawn at the last character's HF when you go up the ladder, no secret needed (it's lost when the character dies, anyway). (Been a while since I"ve inherited, so could be wrong and you need to use the stairs...)

A picture would be nice, but a pot has 4 states: First is empty or partially filled. It'll say in the tooltip how much of what items have been put into it or "Empty treeplanter's pot". Next is a planted seed. It should say "Planted <tree type> seed" and then is ready to go on the herbalist table. The 3rd is "Sprouted tree" and will show a small tree sprout in the planter and name the type of sprout. The final (fail state) is a dead tree, and will state that. It will need to be emptied before you can refill it again. There isn't any visual difference between a partially filled, planted, and dead tree pot, so you'll have to read the tool tip to find out the state.

Check to see what it says and that should indicate what you need to do with the pot. If I recall correctly, you can't put an empty or unplanted pot on an herb table.

I got the following message and it looked like the soil and water was already in the pot but as it turns out it wasn't. I didn't realize the message was telling me that it was empty. Sigh... The pot is now filled and ready. Thanks for your time and help.

Question on the new destructable mine holes, if you destroy the hole will that small section of unbuildable tile that it creates remain? Will it cause cave-ins or remove any exsisting structures built underground near it?

It's based around the Goldbeater's skin. The simpler ones with only gold or silver are equal to the skin and softcapped by sqrt (str * psy). Others with more than just gold or silver will have variations on this.

Ah, I see. Darn...guess I'll just keep my current new character.

Also, I got my girlfriend into the game, and she showed me on Skype that the Craft button is completely missing (pressing C apparently does nothing). What's that about?

Before you can make any crafts or buildings, you need two things 1) the appropriate skill from the skill tree, and 2) discovered the items required to craft them. The simplest, and usually first, item anyone gets is the cone cow. Until you have both of these, you don't even see what items you can work with.

No, no, not like that. I was telling her how to actually get the cone cow, and she told me on Skype that the crafting OPTION just wasn't there. Like, Adventure, Build and Combat were, but Craft wasn't.

EDIT: Never mind, she picked a pinecone and it worked. My bad.
