My Psyche is 17, but I didn't think that affected sewing. Does it?

Edit: Whoops, just noticed that the wiki says PSY affects all items that use silk. Well, that sucks. Does PSY impact the whole filament > thread > cloth chain too or just when you're actually using the cloth to make stuff?

It must not affect it an awful lot to only drop the quality 5 points below what I'd expect.

It's 4x.

The base chance is listed on the wiki (something like 20-25% chance?). 50% chance is 2x. 100x is another 2x, so 4x total. It's the reason you need 6400 PER * EXP to see all forageables in the game.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Just an offhand idea, is the accent over the first "i" maybe something the text for the village name doesn't like?

Is there a chance of another village influence in the same vicinity? Are you currently in a village already?
