you could always check the new born's "food eaten quality" to find which one is its mother. all mothers lactate. you just have to be checking given stats. (after a few days of drinking milk from other mothers, the food quality changes, so you have to be checking it as soon as it was born.)

what i always do, however, is to let most females have at least one baby before butchering - unless it has a horrible stat - and put those with higher milk q in another pen without males but next to babies. they will almost always have one more baby later, but this way all can feed babies and i have never had a problem with growing pigs and sheep before.

Does an animal corpse decay in ticks? I mean...does its quality start to decay after some minutes have passed and then the skin and meat vanish? Or does it just vanishes with the skin/meat without messing with its quality?

I've hunted a deer and put it inside my base for several hours untill my survival guy logged on and when butchered its q was bellow 100.
If I could I would heal and help people, but in this realm I can't...Wait...elixirs? *Dons Plague Doctor mask*

Deers are not always q100 - it's depending on their Level

no, the quality of animal products does not lower based on the time it's been sitting there.

Quality of animal products depends on it's level. Although I have had the occasional 99q deer for some odd reason (probably a server rounding error).

I've seen that q99 meat off deer, too. I'm not sure what that is (other than a rounding error) as the "civilization" rules are supposed to lower animal levels in whole numbers, so deer would be q100, q90, q80. At least, according to my understanding of it.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

That's correct. It's a rounding error somewhere.
