what str. required for breaking abandoned pclaim? I saw somewhere awhile ago, but am having no luck finding. I'm trying to break one with a low 115 str. and is taking forever....

If you sure that it is abandoned for more than 30 days your STR should be enough with a pickaxe - it just takes some time (and water)

it depends of your luck finding metals but i personally recomend you 10.

The higher quality extract the better. Higher quality means more range on it, and iirc less chance of false negatives.

no, it depends. the higher quality extract only means bigger range. the lower quality does have its own use.

i still dont understand how it actually works because higher quality extracts which are supposed to catch in bigger range according to jorb can often miss a very nearby node from my own experience, and lower quality extracts have worked much better for me.

In the "Study" character page, under the boxes and attention points it says "Total LP: XXXX" and you can lock and unlock it. I dont recall seeing this before? Whats the lock for and where is this number coming from?

They are features on some custon clients.

If it's locked, then you cannot take curiosities out of the study window.

Total LP is the total amount of LP you will recieve from all curiosities on the window.

Between 2-4 full jars of extract should find you at least one node. Bear in mind to test ar regular intervals and there is always a location to be found regardless of what it tells you on no minerals found.
