im afraid thats wrong info you got there.
i believe the node refreshing time is set on the server side, its not 8 hrs after you dig, but the node recovers 1 point every 8 hrs.
(sometimes the node recovers while you are still digging, before lowering the node or right after lowering the node.)

1) if a village auth is lower than 50k, will items on the claim start taking hits?
2) do crossroad signs take decay hits?

1) Yes
2) Yes if the authority is as you mentioned. However they do have bit more resistance for some reason.

The idol of my village was destroyed, how do I build a new one on it's same place? Do I have to wait a day or two?
I keep getting the "This land is already ruled" message.
We still have some banners working, maybe that's the problem?

i have another question about Vidols i found one down under ground and i took over lawspeaker. what happens to the people who were original in the village are they still apart of this idol?

if yes i probaly need to break this one and rebuild it

You must remove any old banners/statues that will interfere with new idol. Quite simply you start from scratch with a new idol.

If there are any people still oathed to that idol they will remain in the village. The only way to remove them is it kin them and then do so. You can't remove people you don't know.
