Crossroads advice

Postby Raffeh » Thu Nov 21, 2013 11:23 am

I am looking to put up crossroads to easily access into the village and get to the water, I understand anyone who can get to the crossroad can use it. I'm confused how I can set this up so we can get in and out with out a security issue.

I'm sure you veteran players have a way around this as we have just finished our brick wall and don't particularly want to be giving out keys or access to my key alt.

If you mean you want someone to port to a water source in your village but don't want random people to have access to the village, either wall the water source (including the crossroad) seperates, or wall the crossroad people use to port there, and give them all key to the brickwall you walled it with.

I mean just to be able to port out of the village walls to the water which means carrying a boat to go out and forage or what ever, so we should expand the village claim then brick wall the cross roads to get in and out? also if i give everyone a key and they are killed they could use the key to access the village anyway?

Edit: By the way nooby, thank you for all your help on these forum posts. much appreciated.

If you have those 2 CRs, 1 - inside village, 2 - outside. Go to 2nd with LS/chief, right click and choose Connect. Take sign to crossroad no.1, right click it and attach. That way you can port from inside village out to your water /any spot, and return via HF port.

Never ever do opposite to have CR leading inside your main village.

Basically what ramo is saying, crossroads go in direction. You can, of course, connect back and forth but it's bad. You don't need brickwall the crossroad.

Tea doesn't, sleeping sucks. Tobacco is cool but kinda slow so just use wine/beer :)

Sleeping does suck for quick removal, but it does wonders when you log out for the night. Make a good quality* sturdy bed and there isn't much that doesn't get wiped after just one play session.

*note that nobody has really studied the effect of quality of beds on travel weariness reduction. Better beds offer better returns sturdy bed>straw bed>spruce bed.
