sorry for being so annoying with the questions but i have another problem here:

1) what fuel is best to use at making steel ?
2) how much of that fuel is needed to make 2 bars of steel in a single crucible ?

I've being using wood blocks to fuel my steel crucibles but i',m not sure if it's the best choice and I also lose count of how much i use per steel session.

sticks are best, since then you waste minimal fuel when filling them up to the top. the wiki says how many is needed per crucible.

I tried raiding an ant hill near water today. Once I got in the water, the ants would not go away. They just stayed right next to me and the combat screen was still on. Eventually, after I was tired of waiting, I just boated away. Aren't they supposed to get distracted within a few seconds?

I also went fishing, and caught nothing but Perch. Do I need to fish in other areas to get other kinds of fish? I really wanted to get some Plaice. It took me a good 20 minutes just to find that one fishing node.

They aren't supposed to unaggro you. They aren't supposed to move away. When they reach the water, you can safely raid the anthill.

Survival is supposed to hardcap stuff you find. How does this work? When I get something from a tree, the quality is always 10. I just raised my Survival to 3. If it's a hardcap, shouldn't I only be getting q3 stuff? Do I have to get Survival over 10 before I start seeing increases in quality?

Most things in the natural Haven landscape have set or base values. Trees for example will always be quality 10 unless someone raises or lowers them but planting. Foraged curios will probably be the things you see increase in value first. With 10 the base value of most items you will need to get above that to see changes.

A good example is animal butchering. You need these level to get full value of each animal.

Fox 16
Boar 56
Deer 100
Bear 200

Of course tool q will modify results.

Survival is supposed to hardcap stuff you find. How does this work?

when your survival is lower than 10 => the quality of natural resources will be q10
when your survival is higher than 10 => the quality of natural resources will be hardcapped by your survival level.

"natural resources" here means soil, water, clay, and forageables on each tile (exclude tree products and such).
e.g.
survival 5 character digs soil of q50 soil node => soil q is always q10 until the node is depleted.
survival 20 character digs soil of q50 soil node => soil q starts at q20 and go down later as you continue digging.
survival 60 character digs soil of q50 soil node => soil q starts at q50 and go down as you continue digging.

*edit*
as for animal butchering, skinning, getting bones, and roasting meat, survival level softcaps the quality, not hardcap.
survival 1 character roasts q10 rabbit meat => roasted rabbit meat will be q5.

Hellow, can some1 plz answer how can i catch EEL? Ring of Brodgar said that i have to fish at shallow river but i already tryed at morning, afternoon and night but dont comes nothing.
I used leech, woodfish, rock lobster, pinecone plug and feather fly as bait.

I'm pretty sure it also depends where you fish. (not deep or shallow, but what node). I guess you should find another fish node and try your luck there.
I say this because I've found nodes where I would only fish perch, then nodes where I would only fish eel, etc.

Fish can only be caught at nodes. The jumping fish will be seen. The other factors are the moon phase, lure, and hook.

As Nooby mentioned some nodes tend to be dominant one type of fish.

Eels do take time even if everything is correct. So be a patient.
