I think you got the whole aspect of a node wrong. Nodes act like invisible "lakes" getting higher in quality the more you get to the center of this "lake". Supergrids however act seperately from each other, meaning the node in one grid will not exist in the other grid.
So if a node spawns at the edge of a grid, it will be cut in half, leaving the peak somewhere in an unreachable void behind its border.
Same counts for ore nodes below this border.
