Indeed, nobody can. The best you can do is to maximize the window.

Default client has a fixed size - if you want it bigger you'd have to use a custom client like Enders

My male and female sheep are separated by a simple roundpole fence, yet this morning I have two babies running around - this is normal?
How far apart do they need to be to stop breeding?
I've only ever bred cows before and I never had any problems with them. Lol, these sheep are worse than rabbits!

Five spaces and two fences worked for me last world. I am not sure the exact range of breeding but better safe than sorry at times. As a side note last world I had a two layer roundpole and a pali and they still were born on the other side of the pali so be aware of that to. :)

Thanks V - I only got the male 2 wks ago and I already have 7 sheep now, lol, I don't want anymore for awhile! I'd love to give some away to newbies but I live on an island so it's just too much hassle. Right, I better get back and sort them out before I have anymore! Thanks again. :)

Oh, and yeah, all mine were born outside of their enclosure but luckily I had remembered reading about this problem so I built a good distance away from the pali. :)

ive been raising all 3 animals since w3 (with some breaks in between) and ive never had my females pregnant after separated, no matter what i used; fences, cell-rocks, chairs, or signs. are you sure they werent pregnant when you separated them? i think male and female have to be able to interact each other without obstacles in between to mate, but i can be wrong.

one thing to note. sheep have smaller hitboxes than cows that they can go through smaller gaps. (for example, roundpole fence signs dont let them slip but basket signs do.)

Hey Tonky, yeah, I'm sure they were separated - there is a baby male in with the females, but, I'm assuming they can't breed. Nooby thought it may have been a bug, however, here is a pic of how they were (after just one baby) and now I'm thinking after what you said about the hit boxes that maybe they mated in the gap by the troughs, do you think?

I've now built another enclosure on the left of the cow and put him in there on his own. :)

well, in my experience, after a baby is born, the female is already pregnant for another when you have enough space; they mate almost as soon as female is free when enough space around AND no "no-mating" bug (like some players had reported before).
so, i usually separate female from male and expect at least one baby being born, but none after that.
(i guess you can usually see if its pregnant or not by the food they consume when you have a very few anyways though.)

Right, ok, tbh, I thought I had removed him before the baby was even born and as the other two females were in with the cows at the time he can't have impregnated them, but, the more I try to think about it the more I can't remember, lol, so I may have left him in there longer than I thought.

So, you don't think the gap is wide enough to have allowed him to impregnate one of the other females?

not sure about that gap as i never had mine like that before. it is possible, but cant tell.
but one thing for sure, if they actually mated through that gap, they both, or at least one of them, should be outside those fences afterwards. (if you remember how the animation works for the mating) they dont normally go back into the smaller space, although a few of them do wonder into a smaller area and get stuck occasionally.
