Ok, right, well thanks for all your help, and Lady V too, they are definitely all separated now so, if it happens again, it's a miracle! :D

Has anyone figured out whats going on with shearing wool from mouflons? The wiki claims that dex softcaps the q but that's definitely not right.

I had a q100+ axe q20 clover, 54 dex, and got 11 wool.
Another char had q100 axe, 22 clover, 13 dex, and got 17 wool.

Thanks ZZ

Are you sure you were on the right wiki? http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Mouflon says nothing about it being caped by dex I think it is caped by survival and shearing tool.

This is the wiki page I'm referring too. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Wool

The mouflon wiki page says that only skin, meat, and intestines are softcapped by survival and actually goes on to say that the wool quality will be equal to the clover fed to the mouflon.

Soil quality of the area determines the quality of Four-leaf clovers and is softcapped by Survival.

The quality of the wool or milk obtained is equal to the quality of the clover used to feed the animal though sheared wool is softcapped by the quality of the sharp tool and the shearing character's Dexterity.

(22+13)/2 = 17.5

(20+1)/2 = 10.5
(20+2)/2 = 11

So you had 2 or 3 survival on the other char?
I guess it's capped by survival, dex and tool q.

Yeah I think you got it, the char with 54 dex did only have 1 survival (shes used for sewing). I'll test it out soon, thanks for your and everyone's help.

P.S. The discussion on wool http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Talk:Wool still makes it look like there is something else softcapping.

I've always found on moufloons it equals the quality of the clover you feed it. On tame sheep dex applies.

Ok I discovered something but I'm not sure what I discovered. I found that if I fed the clover with one char and sheared with another there was no softcapping until I got to the shearers dex.

In this pic http://i.imgur.com/8Ygt1aR.png the top char fed the clovers and the bottom char sheared the wool. It appears that the game checks something when the clovers are fed and again when they're sheared. If I fed the clovers with the bottom char in the pic and I sheared, the quality of the wool was reduce considerably but if I fed the clovers with the top char the wool didn't softcap until I hit the bottom chars dex. Maybe the game checks survival when the clover is fed then just checks dex and tool when the wool is sheared.
