Ah. Though, if someone has memorized you, other than showing my name is there any repercussions if I've left no scents?

your claim and hearth fire show him/her your name (not your real char name but the name they marked for memorizing)
meaning, they can tell which one is your claim and which hearth fire is yours, if they are in his/her sight.

Okay, that makes me feel better. Was mining in an unclaimed mine and the owner turned up lol, I think I took a minute to realize it but he didn't turned toward me. I do think he was a bit of a noob though, with the mine not claimed underground and when I went to reclaim the boat, he had taken my ants and candleberries but left my mussels.

How do I make nuggets from metal bars?

I've built a crucible but I don't have the "Make Nugget" icon under "Craft", although I do have "Metal Working".

I'm assuming I have to discover something first...

Did you take the metal from a smelter, or from any other container? You need to take it from a smelter (discover it) in order to do anything that has to do with metals.

How do you farm? I know to ctrl+click the plowed ground but the seeds I'm trying to plant (Pumpkin seeds) just drop on the tile I'm standing on. Am I missing something? I have the farming skill.

Place a pumpkin seed on your cursor by left clicking it from your inventory, then hold shift and right click on the plowed tile. It will plant the pumpkin seed, and place a new pumpkin seed from your inventory onto your cursor (if you have more than one) so that you can just hold shift and right click all the plowed tiles to quickly plant your whole inventory.

How do I acquire other seeds besides pumpkin?

Just keep drying wild windsown weeds and you should get other seeds. Certain crops have a tendency to spawn in certain areas by design so you mean need to explore further out to get some variety.
