I have a question.

I invited a few friends of mine to play H&H. And I wonder how can I make them spawn next to my spot. Is it possible?

Yes, set a hearth secret in your kinlist. When in the character creation room have them talk to the fellow in the top left corner of the room and give him the hearth secret that you set. Remember that hearth secrets are case sensitive. If it worked then they can now walk down a staircase next to the fellow and spawn next to your hearth fire. If it didn't work then it'll tell you why.

After all your friends have joined you erase your hearth secret. There are unscrupulous individuals who spend their time trying to guess people's hearth secrets so they can find their location and cause havoc.

I've got the "There appears to be copper below" message all around that area. Does that mean there's copper on a layer below me or somewhere on that area? I did manage to get an ore after just a few attempts (I have full nature), but I figured that might have been luck.

It means you are standing on top of copper (it's in the layer below)
If you got ore in the current layer, then it looks like you're in a metal vein on the current layer too. Nature/industry only matters with the chance for the ore to become a bar of metal, not on if you get ore from the tile or not.

full nature chars can get ores too. its just that all those ores mined by full nature are destined to be all stones and zero bars when smelt.

But there was a rumor saying moment of determination was changed from mining to putting ore to smelter in oder to make trade more safe. It seems to be a lie though.
