I have feeling I may have asked this before but how does tracking work when object beign tracked is on different layer than tracker? Like HF in cave and tracker on surface. Does it point to nearest cave entrance and in cave to right direction?

I did a quick search for you and this is the best I could find, it says it all though. :)

Hf in cave tracker on surface it points to the spot directly above the hf
tracker in cave hf in cave it points the correct direction.
tracker in cave, hf on surface it says 'perp can not be tracked from here'

Is there a way to run Haven and Hearth on a MAC OS? I have tried a handful of different ways such as downgrading to Java 6 and trying to use custom clients, with no luck. If there is a custom client or way to run it, would someone mind pointing this out to me?

If I get hit by the animal I am taming, which has, say, 40 tameness, so I lose any tameness? Or is it just if I hit the animal?
Edit: Turns out not so ;)

How much UA do I need to tame boar? Any tips & tricks for taming a boar?

With 30 UA a boar wont pierce your defense bar in one hit, but I suggest getting more, and have a lake nearby.
I was once told a method involving a palisade or anything like that, but I don't remember it or it being effective.

It's possible to do it with no UA, as long as you've all of the required black skills.
Trap the beast in a palisade gate, or drag him to an area with 2 or more tiles of shallows.
Spam call down thunder from range, until you've a significant number of IPs, then either use Invocation of Skuld/Sidestep until you've 5 advantage.
Alternatively, use stern order, but stern order's effect is based on your charisma weighted against your enemy's, and I've no idea how much charisma a boar has.
Note that(this could be wrong with large numbers, but it has been my experience) stern order always gives some advantage, even if the numbers don't change, you'll be gaining a decimal of advantage, which is important to know if you're not confident in your ability to hit the creature with a move, then jump back out of its range.

If you choose to use Invocation of Skuld or sidestep rather than stern order, you'll have to use the move once, then run back out of his range, and repeat until you've 5 advanateg. You've 30 UA, and I'd assume some armor(I'd recommend getting like 120+ armor class for this, but if you do things correctly you won't be hit for damage at all), so it will take roughly 1 and a bit hits for a boar to break your defense, and assuming you've the aforementioned armor class, several more hits to KO you.

Once you've 5 advantage, use consume the flames to reset intensity to 0, then Quell the beast.
You'll have to do this 5 times in total, after you Quell him the first time, he will become friendly, but his sprite won't change.
After a (seemingly?) random amount of time, he'll become aggressive and aggro you instantly, basically, use the same tactics from above to quell him four more times.

It has, in my experience, taken a significant amount of time (upwards of 30 minutes sometimes) for them to become aggressive again, so, I'd recommend using a client that plays a sound whenever you get aggroed (apoc light is my favorite public combat client(I've a giant secret mancrush on xcom)), and alt tab out of his melee range until you hear the aggro sound.

Sorry for the wall of text, I'm bored :P
Anyhow, good luck taming, have fun.
