Bugs were fixed, insignificant features were added (can't think of an important one), maybe skulls, breakable bodies and HF timer? Bugrams were fixed, that's about it I think.

Thanks, I guess I'll find out myself if anything else came up, but it sounds like not a whole lot changed other than bug fixes. Hopefully I don't doom myself by attempting an old and fixed bug at a bad time.
Back, I guess

Fuel glitch is still around. You now have to wait for House sign to "dry" before you can build it. (Apparently people building houses to block peoples gates were problem enough in early w7)
Oh, you CAN NOT snaketunnel around in mines.

just make sure to read latest announcement threads by jorb, so you wont miss the most important ones.
there are a few changes to crimes too and you may want to watch out if you play criminals.

That. That right there is exactly what I mean. Snaking around in mines was entirely what I did. I probably would have killed myself in the future without having this spelled out to me. Thank you.

Does anyone know the mechanics behind when the game chooses to remove something from the ground? Some items like blocks seem to stay quite a while but I've seen other items like branches and tea leaves disappear almost immediately after dropping but not always. Does it have to do with total items exceeding a certain amount on the ground in a supergrid or something?

I'd say different items have different timers for disappearing - some stuff like leeches immediatly do other stuff that might be needed for a longer time like blocks (building) stay longer (some stuff like sand seems also depend on where it's dropped)

All 'items' are removed when the grid is unloaded, and it seems that everything is just on a timer depending on the type of item.
