With a few exceptions, such as cupboards. Also, things that are not on pavement still decay just much, much slower.

Buildings, such as houses and walls, built on pavement and within an active village claim or a personal claim will not suffer decay.

if i put a fresh bear corpse into a boat or cart, will it decay?
if yes, how long will it takes to deacy???

The decay time is 8 hours for hide, 8 hours for meat/intestines and 16 hours for bones if I'm remembering correctly.

Kriegwolf wrote:Somewhere there was said that decay hits are random. So, I repeat, they are random. So you never know how long it will take.

I'm not sure if this is on the topic of animal carcasses or not, but if so, they do not receive random decay hits, but deteriorate over set times.

There shouldn't be a minimum and maximum. However the chance of it decaying immediately or after an extensive period of time is highly improbable.

immobile objects ment to be on paved ground will decay when in claim and not on paved ground.
Some house objects will decay when in claim and outside (eg loom, cupboard)
Hope you have a great day

hello again, you geniuses in the help thread, you gods among men. take these offerings i leave in hopes that my sacrifice may bring forth a sign or an answer from your noble personages.

my question is thus: Can a finery forge gain ticks toward completion in a similar fashion to the oven or kiln?
It hurt itself in its confusion!

all things metal working except steel crucible can be done with 1 fuel and waiting...so using a smelter you can use higher quality fuel and get a decent return.

Indeed. This bug doesn't work when there is a progress bar (the only current example being a steel crucible). The only difference that smelters/forges have to kilns/ovens is that charcoal is the only usable fuel, and it only burns for 1 tick (5min 33sec) instead of 2.

Is there a way I can find myself on this map fast or do I have to just search through the whole map?

You can try asking for villages in your area to send you their map locations. Otherwise just get to know your area better before searching.

If you're using Ender's client, there is a map subfolder with a tool to display the most recent saved map files. Looking at that can help match places up. Look for large lakes, mudflats, mountains, or other unique terrain features.
