The ore for gold and silver, if I'm not mistaken, will be base q for the layer you are mining.

I found a zone on level 3 that i couldn't mine with 243 str and a q15 pick does that mean its high q or do i need a higher q pick

There are hardness nodes in stone. The further you go down the harder they are. I once had a spot in a level 5 mine where 400 strength mined slowly. A better pick or even a high q stone axe will do fine.

House is a different layer that's gone when destroyed - so you can't spawn where you logged out
If your HF was in destroyed house too your only option is to spawn in the wilderness

Yes it is good for early armor, backpacks, travelers sacks, minehole's....

Yes. It's necessary for almost everything good and useful as a newbie. Worst case scenario it's a source of early high quality string once you're able to kill larger animals. It also directly translates into a higher quality sling so it can accelerate early hunting as you upgrade from rabbit leather to boar leather to deer leather to bear leather.

I am pretty ure that you need vandalism. Note that all tresspassing, theft and vandalism scents created by the claim disappear along with the claim including the one you get from destroying the Stake.
