Since it's been over a year since last world (not that it would matters because i would be raided), how do i get high q water, clay and more than 30-ish soil? Pretty much all the places are occupied/too risky for a hermit. Also, since people's stuff is already on the 1000q, is it really worth to try to do something before next world reset?

My friends started playing this game after 1 year break. They already have decent ql stuff.

U just need to invest time into scounting places, checking q of soils, waters etc. I know for q50+ clay spots that are abandoned, probably similar water nodes, soil can go higher. Its all about just exploring.

If you'll find a good resource check the area before you claim - in some areas some spots are open by "gentlemen agreements" since day one

Whether it's 'worth it to do something' is not a simple question. It's certainly possible to survive and participate at this stage in the game. It's probably not possible to dominate pre-established player communities unless they give up and let you, but starting on a world early doesn't change that--PCs who spawn together instead of alone start at an advantage.

My best suggestion is to consider what your goals are. High-quality clay, soil and water are only maximizers, not strictly necessary, and there's no Q1000 resource nodes in any case. As far as I know, only items produced directly by farming enter that range. It's possible to enjoy the game without ever stressing about item quality, just letting it creep up on its own when you stumble across better resources, or find yourself with excess LP to spend.

Is there an attribute that increases the quality of items made with Carpentry?

No

I'm currently stalking a rabbit. I have the Will Of Power skill, which gives me unarmed combat, aka, the theoretical ability to punch the rabbit in its goddamned face... or so I thought. Logic is apparently a bit lacking in this game. How do I actually kill the thing, using unarmed combat or melee?
I am also armed with the basic stick+stone axe.

sneak the rabbit, stop right in front of it's nose, turn highest run speed possible, right click rabbit ..., right click rabbit in inventary to end it's life ... turn sound on

don't try with fox, boar, deer, bear and read the readmes, tutorials and RoB Wiki ;)
