No, it's not. It's explained fully on the RoB wiki: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Farming

Hey, I found the wiki on the topic "mining" a bit confusing, so I have a few questions...

-Are the chances 100% to get a cave-in when mining more than 3 grid-squares in a row without support?
-is 800 the maximum damage they can do to you?
-how many underground-levels are there?
-when you prospect, how do you know on what level the vein is? or is it always the first one?

Does the Ferryman ring work if you used a boat? As if someone busted your boat, would you go back to nearby land or all the way back to where you started? Or would you just fall in and probably drown if you have low cons?

not 100%, you can be lucky and get a good run, but supports are definately advised, especially if lower than layer one

damage increases per mining level, 800 sounds around right, but armour is not taken into account when hit by a cave in, only your actual con/stam counts (mining hat decreases damage a little)(recent cave in took 400/400 from me, on layer 4)

there are 5 levels(caves are level one only), mining tends to get tougher the deeper you go, on average 50 str per level - but this varies depending on rock toughness and pickaxe/axe quality

when prospecting - you only prospect the level directly below you, you have to prospect again inside the mine to find out what is deeper - so prospect at ground level only shows layer one minerals, prospecting at level one(or in a cave) only reveals layer 2, etc

that's a good question, jorb says: "If you drown wearing this ring you will be bumped back to the tile where you first entered the water, and lose the ring."

and from viewtopic.php?f=29&t=23834&p=293360&hilit=ferryman#p293360 -

from which i presume you teleport back to the piece of land where you climbed into the boat, and dont get dumped in the river where your boat is.

good escape plan if accosted by river pirates - stay in the boat (if wearing the ring)

Saw you're questions got answered, so I won't answer again. ;)

What part is confusing? I've looked it over many times and I am not completely happy with it, but I can't think of any other way to write it up to make it easier to read as well as convey the necessary information. I forget who wrote up the current article as it's been a while since it was posted. (Suppose I should make another thread on this.)

what is a 'resho'?

if its a hearth fire then 30 or 40 str is enough - and a bucket of water
if its a palisade with bare hands, around 350 str, and lots of barrels of water

(hi magic..... you snuck in there while i was typing another post :) )

For a Hearthfire: 36 Barehanded, 25 with a stoneaxe, 16 with a pickaxe, 9 with a sledgehammer
For a Palisade: 676 Barehanded, 625 with a stoneaxe, 576 with a pickaxe, 529 with a sledgehammer
