I know that cows can feed from a trough regardless of any obstructions in the way (ie. fences), but does that apply to calves as well? Can they feed off a cow behind a fence? And also - can bulls impregnate 'remotely', or do they actually need to get to the cow to do their thing?

Animals feed in a range regardless of barriers. And yes if the barrier is only a fence a bull can sometimes impregnate a cow.

I need 1 cow to somehow feed my male calves - is there a way to do it so that they don't impregnate her when they mature?

Milk her with a bucket regularly and place it in a barrel in the pen with the cavles. they will drink from the barrel. Just dont let it go empty.

Animals can milk babies through fences but can't get pregnant through them so if you put them in pens next to each other you will be fine.

I have a few questions. How difficult is it to maintain 2 separate village claims by myself (for teleportation purposes) and is it recommended?
What scents will i leave if I was to bring a ram into a personal claim? If I drop an item in a personal claim and pick it up, do I leave theft scents?

It's not difficult, but it depends on the size of the village claim, too--the larger the claim, the more you need to feed the alts to maintain authority.

None if you have permissions, trespassing and potentially theft if you don't have permission, vandalism if you use the ram to damage or destroy something. (Don't know if moving the ram to "unmovable" leaves a scent or not. Suppose I should, but I don't.)

Yes again, if you don't have permissions. Ownership is based entirely on the claim or if it's "on your person." Once you drop an item, it is no longer "owned," unless it falls on a claim, and then it's owned by the claim holder.

If you're merely concerned about managing permissions for the two (or more) characters between the two villages, make sure that you have a personal claim down with the characters having permissions on the other claim. Personal claim permissions override village claim permissions. Since you can walk on a village claim without issues, use your key alts to open the doors, etc as necessary, and you shouldn't have any issues.

Does the 'Keep adding stamina until you destroy it" work on everything?

This is not correct. A bull separated by only a fence with a cow next to them can and will get pregnant over time. It is not an absolute protection. I have had it happen many times.
