can other players range domesticated livestock through walls?

What???

like can a griefer come up and attack a cow with a bow/sling and kill them? i'm planning out my base and i want to know if it's safe to put my livestock area within viewing distance of the wall edge.

edit: I've never owned livestock in this game, so I don't know :(

Livestock can only be killed by walking up to them and "slaughtering" them, they will be completely safe behind a wall.

I have a terraforming question if someone could please help.

I know trees can change the terrain around them to their native type. After reading the wiki I am a bit confused as to if it does it only so much each tree planted to is it a process that continues at random times as long as the tree is in range of the tiles?

I really hadn't noticed exactly how the process occurs until recently. I had an area of grass I began planting broadleaf trees on some time back and due to life Ive not gotten back to it for some time. Now the area around them is all broadleaf tiles. Im just not sure if each growth cycle they changed the terrain or if once started the progress continues to the trees range.

Also if any wiki editor sees this would you be so kind to add tree terraforming to the terraforming page? It seems to be absent.

I got little time at the moment, so ... See Xcom's "The Universe of Haven" topic, link in Terraforming discussion page.

Later ...

... As far as I know/understand it:

There are basically two different trees initiated terraforming processes.

- The first is that any tree that grows to its next level. Terraforms one random tile, relative close to the tree, to the trees native terrain. (If the picked tile is immune to the terraform, no terraform happens.)

- The second is by forcing a server-grid to become a "active" broad-leaf or coniferous terrain type. At which point all tiles* in that server-grid will be slowly terraformed to the target forest type. (* excluding immune tiles-types. Like pavement, mudflat, .?. ).

How to force a server-grid to become a "active" broad-leaf or coniferous terrain type: See the "Terraforming" section in Xcom's The Universe of Haven.
(Basics: Force 9 [3x3] server-grids to become passive-forest types, and use more than one tree type (same native-ground type of course). This should trigger the center server-grid of that [3x3] area to become a "active" forest type. ... Its a bit like Conway's_Game_of_Life rule 4.)

Chairs face in the direction you set them down, but I don't think anything else rotates (such as buildings).
