Couple of questions, all kinda linked:

If boating through a claim and you see a bear/deer/boar and want to kill/lure it with a missile weapon or long range skill whilst staying in the boat:

1) can you do this without activating criminal activities?
2) would you leave battery/assault/murder scents for attacking/hitting/killing the animal whilst in the claim?
3) if the animal is killed inside the claim and you had to trespass to reach the corpse, could you take the corpse or would you need theft, which would leave theft scents?

Thanks!

1) Try it without criminal acts turned on and see what it tells you. :)
2) If you have to turn criminal acts on to attack it you will leave scents where you fire from.
3) If you have to go onto a claim to get a animal kill you will most certainly leave scents. Both trespass and theft will be left behind.

Hi LadyV

Thanks for your reply again.

Kinda sucks that you can't hunt an animal on a claim, even to lure it outside of the claim without leaving scents :(

Kinda makes sense but also doesn't since animals are "free roaming" haha

Last world I had a deer fall onto a personal claim of someone. It was mine I killed it so I did a very rare theft. lol. Don't think ive used it since. But in those rare cases it is annoying.

1) No, at least trespassing skill is needed.
2) You would only leave TP scents, also the case of you were to take an item from a tree, or chip stone in someone else's claim.
3) Yes, you need TP to interact with the bear, and theft to actually take it.
Also 4) You will need TP skill to aggro it, then you can (if the bear has a way out) lure it out of the claim.

EDIT:

P-Claim destruction:
Wondering what happens while a P-claim is being hammered.

1) Not much, other than the P-claim pole getting red. And than it disappears together with the (up to that point unmodified) P-Claim zone.

2) The P-claim zone actually shrinks while the pole is being hammered.

Reason:
Spotted a P-claim, that after some time was considerably smaller. This could of course be because the owner has cached in some LP. But as its more or less a abandoned plot, I kinda doubt that.

A likely possibility is that someone wrecked the claim stake and then built his own claim stake to claim roughly the same area. This happens precisely in abandoned areas. (Furthermore, the option you proposed is more likely than you think - just yesterday I found that someone had taken over an abandoned place I had declaimed for a couple days (because I was pretty much done looting it).)

The claim does not shrink while you're destroying the claim stake; it remains in perfect condition until the stake is completely destroyed.

 ... *checks memorized claims* (I generally don't memorize claims, but I did this time.)
Yep. This is a new claim by some other character.
