dont worry, you can only harvest when fully grown to get seeds for most crops.
carrot has each growth stage pic so you can easily see, hemp also has a pic for hemp bud stage (dont harvest it in bloom with orange flowers if you want seeds). you can never harvest too early for other crops.

I was trying to see each stage of each seed, how did you find it? Since I did click on carrots, but there weren't any pictures.

So you want someone else to do the work for you? Google is your friend, and you should learn how to effectively use it.

That said, I'm not sure the information exists, as it's not completely consistent. Add in that nobody grows crops without a beehive, and it makes times very variable.

That's not what I meant, what I meant was is there a forum page that somebody, let's say a farmer put up in great detail for others to see and share, since wiki can be informative, but only to extent.

right click - open in new tab to enlarge

so if you want just carrot seeds watch for the white-ish state

for Hemp Buds watch for orange on Hemp plants

btw. why don't you just try with planting and watching yourself - guess it's the purpose of playing ;)

true, but without asking I would probably mess up and never get hemp or carrot seeds ;p

been reading about bee hives on ring of brodgar, but it didn't say if crops grow faster nearer the bee hive or it doesn't matter as long it is in the radar?

As long as it's in the radar of the bee hive, it'll grow faster.

Give it a rest donatas.
Keep reading and searching RoB stuff, while: not expecting instant answers, or always accurate info.
RoB is user driven. And while I crossed my mind to fix the missing crops-stage-previews. Seeing your continued complaining I felt there where more gratifying things I could do, ... like writing this message.

... Neeeeext ...

Well if you don't find info on ROB, then you go to forums and seek help and I don't know why you are this way, but I am just a fellow new player who doesn't want to mess up in the game and therefore is asking help for more experienced players, while you seem not one of them. Sure I could experiment with it, but knowing what you are doing is so much better and you feel like that you are doing something right, instead of guessing is this even right thing to do.
Also the ring of brodgar hasn't been update since 2013 and forums are up to date.

Rule #1: don't add rules that aren't given.

The ROB wiki isn't perfect, but usually the flaw is in missing information, not in incorrect or intentionally hidden information.

so what does this mean? Take things at face value and work from there. If you notice through your gameplay that things aren't working as stated in the wiki, then come here with comments about what you're observing differently. Maybe you're right and everyone else overlooked something. Odds are the vets have already spotted it a while ago, and the wiki just didn't get updated, but there's always the possibility that things are just way more complex than anyone is willing to bother with right now (take fishing for example). Just asking random questions because you think it may be possible and have no experience with that possibility showing up is just going to get annoyed looks or outright snide comments.

In the case of beehives, there's a very extensive post by xcom on how they work. If it's not linked on the wiki, and nobody has linked it for you here, you can search it through Google. Everything you could possible want to know about them is in that post.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
