Can anyone even get down?

Yep, you don't treat your HF as a collidable object. So you go down and land on top of it, but you can walk through it. Only allows entry for a single character though.

Guess I worded that wrong.

Can anyone other than the owner of the HF get down?

Nope. Only the HF owner can enter it and they can't exit it afterwards.

Negative Sir, Anyone can still use the cellar hatch "Raiders", but they get caught in it and it's impossible to escape without porting. It acts the same way as when someone puts a hf right on the inside of their house door (Still haven't figured out how they place it there.). I know this because I got a townmate to go in my cellar to get something just to laugh at him when he got caught like a bug in amber.

Note: But as Foarl pointed out, your alts can't pass it either so make sure you don't have anything an alt needs in the cellar.

I would like to place a hearth fire in front of my door but my guy won't seem to let me build one there

Hold shift when you're placing it and move it a couple pixels back.

Personally I think it is? But then again as trader I need to give out the HS to my main so people can negotiate with me. I never let my HF be outside and check my contacts regularily to see if anyone new has been added. About the only thing your HS could be used for other than alt spamming is to monitor your online status.

According to an in game friend, the "no HS" has been hacked in the past. For personal safety I prefer using randomized HS's 20+ chars long (Read smash keyboard a couple times with hands).
