On the minimap there should be a button to toggle simplified view on and off (Ender's client feature) , if that doesn't work then that means that the map data might be bonked and not being sent to you. If there is a hotkey shortcut for it, I don't know it off the top of my head.

This seems to happen every once in a while with some clients. Just double-check the settings or restart the client.

Which is probably not needed in most of the cases, as its generally just a case of the minimap server currently not having the minimaps for a given area. And next would be that the minimap server is just down (kinda rare though).
(In both cases Ender clients default to showing simplemaps, for the missing normal minimaps, in the minimap window.)

Alright autismal kids, boughs can be used as sticks, that's why it stick is shown near bought.
