I don't really have anything valuable (yet) and having a palisade might make them think I do.

-I'm about a week in this game and obviously haven't planned my encampment from the start, I just kinda put it against a cliff (luckily soil is Q23). Still, I can't make a single line to go all around my land and make a gate; As I'm short on leather, would it be advisable to seal myself inside the fort and then build a ram to make the gates? How much strengh would I need?
°does the quality of the material used increment the hp of the construction?
°What does sealing the cornerstones do?

When (days/weeks/months/years) will World 5 close?
I started about a week ago, and although restarting on equal level with everybody sounds nice, only now have I "understood how to play", and I'd like more time to reach the "hermit endgame".

Having a palisade may appeal, but it'll make your place too much of a hassle for those who aren't dedicated. If you don't have a palisade, most people will probably peak around. Final answer: Get one, it'll stop most people

I'd advise you choose to make 2 cornerposts instead of 1 cornerpost and 1 ram, seeing as 1 ram requires 5 bone glue (30 more bones than you would making another palisade cornerpost). Put some effort into getting a few more leather, it's better than the 30 extra bones

Using a ram, you'd need a combined damage of 6, damage being the squareroot of your strength. In other words, you'd need 36 to damage it alone, but 2 with 9 or higher is enough.

Sealing a cornerpost makes it permanently unexpandable. It's good to stop someone from extending your palisade to block your gate. In other words, seal your cornerposts after you've finished making your palisade.

We're in W5 atm, and don't be expecting World 6 within the close future, it'd only happen if a gamebreaking bug came about. Otherwise, the game's natural life cycle shouldn't end soon.

Do Symbel items on a Table stack? If yes, what is the best not-to-hard-to-get Symbel item?(not Copper/tin stuff pls, but Iron is ok) if not, suggestion for a good "set-up"?

Symbel Items don't stack...

look through wiki pages that show Symbel stuff like for example:

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Soft_Metal_Cutlery

there you see :

Q10 gives 3.6% Hunger Mod, 0% FEP Mod

Q19 gives 6.5% Hunger Mod, 0% FEP Mod

Q41 gives 9.5% Hunger Mod, 0% FEP Mod

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Category:The_Symbel
so you can look for a good setup yourself, also do a search on forums - there where symbel setup threads before

Better to say that it will only come with an unrecoverable server failure. Bugs don't cause server restarts no matter how game breaking. They jcan get fixed fairly quickly. Serious concept flaws in design are another story. These are hard to fix and can't be retrofitted easily, which is why w4 was ended abruptly.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Cheese Placement Q

Postby nehcnhoj » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:54 am

Are Mansions/Houses built in mines registered as "Cabins" when Cheese trays are put inside them? Similarly would a Cellar built in one of these Mansions/Houses register as a "Cellar"?

Thanks!

Is a Q10 Soldier Armor enough to tame without the whole fencing stuff, assuming the pray is attackin you alone without the help of his friends?

Not even close, unless you're not actually being hit. In fact, no armour will save you if they can easily break your defence, since a part of their damage (1/3 IIRC) completely ignores armour.
