How do I find my location on the map? Is there a command to bring up x/y coordinates? I'm using Enders Client, if that makes a difference.

I think you just find landmarks around you and try to find yourself on the world map.

Yup. A world map was never intended. It was only through crafty client modding that we have one. Otherwise, your location in the world is just a random set of coordinates.

Nothing, you might just have a rock lodged in your walls improving the odds of further cave-ins until it is destroyed.

Were you logged out, is either in a boat, or something is on the exact tile you were on.
so either hope that item moves, or spawn in the wilderness/HF

You just have to sample the ground every so often. It's recommended about 40-50 tiles for each. If you find better than q10, then you're on a node and then you should check a bit more frequently. The problem with these is that they can go inland and have no way of accessing the peak of the node, though you can always build a well for water.
