Fields Disappearing?

Fields Disappearing?

I've noticed that if you have a plowed field with no crops. Tiles of the soil start to turn back into grass. Any reason for this?

They will even turn back when you have planted something on them. It is called decay and hits randomly. Just like decay on objects you build.
