Boat problems help

Ya so I just built a rowboat and brought it to the waters edge but When i Click "Avast!" I don't go in the boat I have tryed at all angles :l! What should I do?

It's still on the land, you've got to bring it more on the water. Keep lifting it and dropping it until you can get it on there just right. Angle will not matter.
