Fishing pole quality

What does higher quality of fishing pole, string, hook and bait give you. I noticed fish quality doesn't change based on them (only on source so far). Does it only get destroyed later (thoug i doubt it - i had a q10 hook for a lifetime, found a q98 hook and it got destroyed afrer about 5 cought fishes).
What do baits made of metal give you? And what about metal/gold hook? There isn't any information about them on wiki.

If a fishing spot has higher quality fish, you must have higher quality gear in order to take advantage of this and get higher quality fish. Different baits (especially metal lures) degrade slower and catch different fish at different times of the day in different areas at different moon cycles. That's the extent of my knowledge though!
