Tresspass scents summonable now?

Postby DDDsDD999 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 4:38 pm

Well I looked through the announcments and found nothing saying as such. heres the story: I only bought Rage and Tresspass, NOT THEFT, and I never used rage. I found my Corpse where my hearth was, which it was not when I logged out. Earlier I had went to a friend of mines claim, and pressed criminal actions, and walked on his claim. (He had not let me have tresspass priveldges, because he was killed earlier by some griefers.) I went home, logged off, and the next day found my corpse where my hearth was. So Are tresspass scents summonable now?

I've noticed some trespass scents giving the option to "track stolen object".

A trespassing scent cannot be used to summon a person at their hearthfire.

Hmm, Then I believe it is because I looked through his stuff, even though I don't see how that is considered theft, but oh well. I'll just hold off on buying any scent leaving skills til my Palisade is finish. Still kinda sucks that I died by walking on a claim, but I'm fine.

snooping around like, touching or moving stuff with criminal acts on will indeed leave theft scents, even if you didnt actually take the item away from hes property. maby look at it as fingerprints all over the scene.

so if you have a brakein at your property and the police find fingerprints all over your valubales but nothing is missing, so it might not be theft but it is still a brakein and a violation of your property, a criminal act, since the criminal did not have permission to be there looking thru your stuff in the first place right.

on the other hand if you had just walked thru hes yard without touching anything, it would just be tresspassing, leaving footprints at the most.

I think you're missing the point Emina, his problem isn't thinking he did something right when it was wrong, his problem is that as far as the game typically works those are not summonable, because they aren't people say they aren't, so if he asks someone on say IRC "Are they summonable?" and they say no and then he's killed for it that's a problem from serious game mechanics changing in a way that can get people killed.

edit: As far as I know these aren't summonable, and I've never heard of them being, it seems stupid that the scent would be an actual "Trespassing" scent without a difference between normal trespassing yet be summonable, and trackable.

huh? what are you talking about.

my point is, he left theft scents, and thats why he got summoned!

the problem is, he didnt know that looking thru stuff with criminal acts on, actually leaves theft scents, and not tresspassing as he thaught.

i just made it a bit to to complexed by trying to do a comparising and theory on why looking thru peoples stuff with criminal acts on, does actually leave theft scents and not just tresspassing even if you dont actually steal anything from the property.

If you look through it without picking it up, you leave trespass scents, for 'interacting', not 'taking'.

Unless he reached into the chest, picked up the item and then put it back down, that would be theft, yes..
