Coming from someone that played several competitive multiplayer games. I am curious of what the metagame of this world is, both in terms of direct PvP as well as the setting up the situation so that it will be highly in favor on your side, which I found was important speaking from one of the irc sub-opp (another sub-opp was degrading PvP tactics for some odd reason).

PvP is rare, difficult, and often one sided. Winners are decided fast and due to there being no cap on combat abilities and only a softcap on combat attire, older players with more experience and connections will almost exclusively win. That isn't to say it's impossible to ever win a fight but you'll need either numbers on your side or some sort of advantage that will let you work around their defenses such as high quality metal gear. This is all assuming that you're finding fights in the first place and to do this means you're probably off raiding which is going to get you killed, almost without exception. That or you're raiding newbies and picking on them, which is griefing and will similarly attract ire and get you killed by some do-gooder ranger.
