Few Noob questions about foraging

Hi. First, I want to say that I've read wiki all over, but some things are not clear to me, that's why I ask for your help.

Now, I am trying to find some ways to raise my perception and exploration skills, because I am looking for rustroot and bone clay. I know, that carrot cake is a good thing for noob like me, but I am also trying to rise it other ways, since farming is going a bit slow now.

I've decided to get Ranger's Cape and pants. But since I've used Lp to get my Exploration up, I don't have any Sewing skills, which is required to make good Ranger's cloths (since I am the only one willing spend 7.5k LP for Ranging).

So, Am I right about Sewing? Do I Have to upgrade Sewing to get better Ranger's stuff. And what you actually can suggest in this situation.

yes, you need to have good sewing, dexterity, and psyche to make good ranger gear. you will also need good material, i.e. linen and silk.

carrot cake is good per fep, lots of other things have per fep though, there's a big sortable chart on the wiki.

other items also increase per, including spectacles, monocles, and occult rings. you can buy any of these items if you can get to constantinople.

however, since your per and exploration is low enough that you aren't seeing rustroot, i'm not sure that you've been around long enough to find any major villages...

personally i'd plant as many peas, carrots, and beets as possible and just chow down on those for a while, as all those items are quite expensive. also, i'd have someone else in my group work on sewing. the major benefit of being in a group is that you don't have to do everything, allowing people to develop specializations.

Yes, we have a sewing guy, but the problem is, he needs to waste 7.5k LP for Ranging to make Ranger's gear.
