How to get rid of boars?

I have built a house. Unfortunately a while after finishing and furnishing it. A boar just decided to waltz in and charge at me whenever i try to get my stuff from my camp. Any advice? I have 14 strength and unarmed combat, and i could make some leather armor if i had to, can i kill it? If not, i'd welcome any other options.

I killed my first last night with just 9 ranged combat and a hell load of rocks. If you just want to get rid of it then just hit it until it goes away (you have to have a fence around your place though) If however you want some goodies from all that pelting you will need to trap the boar first.

A level VIII boar can easily make short work of you and will destroy leather armour faster then you can hurt it, hell it can 1 hit ko a player with 30UA but no armour.

Too keep the boars from spawning on your front door build a fence around your house and other buildings, and place a personal claim covering that entire area.

As others have mentioned slings from behind a fence are the best boar killers for those without decent combat stats, just keep a renewable source of stones within easy reach of you where the boar can't get to. as for the marksmanship level, if you are willing to wait 5 mins between shots and then only have a 45% chance of hitting then a skill below 9 is ok if you want to fire more often with a greater chance of hitting aim for a skill level of 15-20.
The 4400 LP needed to go from 1 to 9 marksmanship is not to bad as compared upgrading UA from 15 to 60 UA (168750lp) which is what is the recommended UA needed to fight a boar (according to viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6518).

animals despawn after 20 minutes if nobody is around to see them.

Just hide out in your newly-built house for 20 minutes and it'll go away. Despawn, in fact.
To avoid them getting too close to your house next time, claim the land around your house so critters don't spawn on it, than build a fence around it so you can hide behind it if something decides to chase you.
