I hate robbers

Postby Smak64 » Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:41 pm

Perfect. I just got robbed by a few people and lost a spruce bough bed and a leanto. The took me a long time to make and all that work is gone. OR did those just happen to dissapear for some reason? Anyone know what to do? Actually no don't answer that question. I've pretty much just played the game for about an hour and there really is nothing I CAN do about it. Except make them again. The more important question is, Whodunit?

1. That things are the most worthless things, i can make them in 5 minutes.
2. Where they a bit red? If they were, they most probably decayed. Come on, no one is going to steal a spruce bed with a leanto...

1. You don't see my point. It took me time to build them, you're probably someone with everything so you can do stuff that takes me a while in 2 seconds. I put work into them and I took pride from my achievement. Small or large.
2. I dunno. I hadn't played this in a while so I can't tell.

If you have not played for a while then most likely the items just decayed - no one toom them they just rotted away. Don't worry though as each time you make something knew you gain LP and can improve your skills.

They decayed, build them again, it will take you about 2 minutes.

Ok, so basic solution, play more? I already knew about LP but thanks for explaining what happened.

That's assuming I can actually find a pine tree within 10 miles of my hearth fire. Since I know where there's ONE pine tree. As well as it being far away, it'll take more than 2 minutes.

Don't set up camp, or a hearth fire until you have found a spot with suitable resources to sustain a settlement. I find that forests are the best for a solo experience, as there our plenty of trees and wildlife.

^^ I loled a bit at this, also

To the new(er than me) player:
Typically when I set up a new char unconnected to a village or etc, I immediately trek to the nearest water with trees around. I then spend the time making and destroying baskets, cutting down trees, etc, until I have the skills to make a boat. I then make a boat and sail around to find starter seeds from abandoned, unclaimed plots. I then sail around MORE, looking for a camping spot in a hardwood (personal preference) forest with water (well or otherwise) nearby, with one or more cliffs (land blocks) that I can butt my settlement up against.

So in all, getting to my settling place usually takes a day or two, but I'm well prepared to start building when I get there.
