Hunting to catch rabbits for food.
Or foraging to gather blueberry and spindly tap-roots also to make getting food easier. If you get foraging it may be a good idea to improve exploration to lvl3 to make the afore mentioned items more common.

Yeah, get hunting for rabbits and foraging for forageables. When you've gotten your food supply settled, get lumberjacking and start chopping trees for your 1st house and palisade, that'll give you a lot of LP. Or if you wanna grind LP, get pottery and carpentry, start digging to get LP and use the chair to rest, I heard people do that when they start new chars.

*cough*

Also, @ OP, you dont need food too quick. 5 breads will last you until 1000 LP at least afaik.

Dry 2 rabbit skins then use crafting to make bunny slippers, but you need cloth making. These are the shoes of choice for many players as they never break.
Or you can make Clogs from 2 wooden blocks (from a chopped down tree) using the carpentry skill (these are what you started with before the boar ate them).

As for the fishing pole you will need the fishing skill to make and use it, you will also need some water with fish jumping in it.
The pole you should have gotten from the starting area, if you have lost it yo can make one from branches from the crafting menu.
to use the pole you will need some string (spindly taproot is a populer choice), a hook (made fram any bone like the one that the rabbit left you), and a lure/bait.
Bait is hard to get and may cost more hunger the the fish will fill. Good all purpuse lures are the rock lobster (made from 1 stone but needs stone working) and the the wood fish (made from 1 block of wood and needs carpentry).

To ready the pole pick up the string then right click the pole, then do the some with the lure. After that equip the prepared fishing rod and go to a fishing spot and catch some fish.
Some fishing spots are easier to get to if you have a boat (needs boat building).

How does foraging work? I read the wiki, but i dont understand where the items appear. Do i see them on the ground in grassland or forests? I have exploration lvl 5. but perception lvl 10 only.

They're on the ground, yes. If you right click them you'll get a "Pick" option. You'll start to see more if you raise your exploration or perception a bit more.

Thanks :) these are the main things i need because im camped on a river and i made a bed and 2 fur drying things and im drying 4 rabbit skins and i have those littles boxes to store the bones and everything else in. i dont know what river it is but it goes east to west. and to the south is some land that on the minimap is a lighter more brighter green than the forest. thats where i go to get chickens and rabbits. the river also has some fishes jumping out of the water a little further down from my spot. how do we add people to our kin in the game?
