Tips for newbies?

Postby Backpacker » Fri Sep 10, 2010 1:12 pm

Hi, I'm just new, I've been reading the wiki a bit but I wonder, is there anything not in the wiki a newbie like me should really know?
What are the most important things to do when you've just started?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, I would get LP Lumberjacking (idk, craft stone axes or sth).
Why?
Because you can cut a few trees (keep one of the axes you made) for 200 or so LP, and sooner or later you will want to build yourself a house, so you could use those logs.
By then, some of your bread may have been eaten, uh, by you, and you will want to learn to get food. I suggest Hunting over Foraging here, because A) How much you can forage depends on your perception * exploration, costing even more LP and B) Eating (cooked ofc!) rabbit meat fills way more hunger than a loose spindly taproot now and then.

There you go, enjoy the game!

Get some drying frames up with WWS and animal hides on them. Might save you another day of waiting at a later date.

Don't forget to adjust the personal belief sliders so you get more LP. I assume you read about them on the wiki.
