Suggested stats for Auroch hunting

Postby mak0 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 2:19 am

Heya,

I noticed on the wiki that theres a tactic of walling yourself in with signs behind a boulder and killing a herd of aurochs, i was wondering if there's
any recommended stats for perception/Marksmanship before i go hunt them.

Thanks!

10 Marksmanship is good, more is better.
10 Perception is fine, more is better.

The biggest deal is the quality of your sling.

Yeah, it all depends on how much time you have ;)

If you wall your self in and have an endless supply of stone, you can be safe and kill them all in about half an hour or more with 10 MM and per. I suggest getting MM to about 30 to speed up aiming before you even try to do this, it should take you about 10 mins that way. And yeah, what Dog said - the sling q is the biggest factor. Better sling = more damage.

Thanks guys!
Time go go annoy some aurochs

edit:
Tried it with only 10 MM and it took 10-15 mins an auroch!
note to self and other new players, get MM higher than 10

No they don't run away, you are safe to hit them until they fall over without the worry of needing to chase them down - but unless you need lots of low Q leather or bones there is not much use spending all the time needed to set up then kill them at least IMHO.
