Unpaving roads?

Postby bluebarilicious » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:28 pm

Is there a way to unpave a road? My neighbors have long since abandoned their land, and their roads are in the way. I've tried destroying, digging, lifting (lol) nothing seems to work. Is laying stone permanent?

Planting grass gets rid of it, which can be plowed, and spawn most animals. But I'm not sure about it being able to turn back into forest. Heard trees don't do it but I could be wrong.

So they do and they do not remove grassland and convert it to forest tile, nice. Good to see you Schrodinger.

It has been reported before that they do not revert/change grassland tiles into any other tiles. My personal landscape has not had any reversion either due to tree planting. So as far as this goes, unless someone has evidence to the contrary, I believe that you have heard correctly.

Trees randomly convert the land around them into their preferred type of forest, but it only applies to the area under the tree. I've only really ever planted firs, and it's been pretty much the 3x3 area the tree sits in. It also doesn't convert them all, it converts a few of them at random while growing. Trees don't produce more forest tiles once they're fully grown. Apple and Mulberry trees (at least, possibly others?) do not have a preferred type, and do not change any tiles around them.
Come back two hours earlier.
