sacrificing items and numen points

Postby DeadlyPencil » Sat Sep 18, 2010 6:15 am

can someone with ancestor knowledge help me fill in the blanks. regarding sacrificing items to your ancestors?

-what happens with quality less items like gold and silver? do they count as quality 10?

-what happens if you sacrific the wrong item?

-what is the penalty for sacrificing an item lower quality than what they were expecting?

-is there any items to stay away from? like ones that never work properly?

-i saw a bucket of water with a 10 on it, meaning 1 L iam guessing, if i sacrific a bucket with 10 L will it mess up?

-do dried cow hides count as any hide like in most recipies? or can i really only use cow hide?

AFAIK you can only sacrifice items that are displayed, so there is no way to sacrifice a wrong item. If the Q of the item you sacrifice is lower than your current amount of Numen points, you'll lose points instead of gaining them. All items should work properly, but you probably shouldn't sacrifice high quality items like the B12 axe or something. If you sacrifice liquids then it will take that amount of liquid out of the bucket and the rest will stay in it.

You might want to look at this page if you haven't done so already: http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/Ancestral_Worship

already read it. it doesn't answer any of the questions above.

so is it possible to lose more than 1 point when sacrificing something of lower quality, or just 1.

Blatant lie, this sentence is in the wiki and answers your question:

If you sacrifice items of a lower quality rating than the amount of numen points you have, you will lose a numen point instead. This applies regardless of whether the primary or secondary desires are fulfilled.

well then you also blantantly lied. you said i would lose "points" however now your saying i would only lose 1 point.

i need to know exactly how it works cuse iam trying to see how hard it would be to make some godlike metal. however even with my really high quality stuff now, when i did a random test, it seems really really hard to get past 150.

If you would have read the wiki correctly in the first place you wouldn't have needed to ask the question in the first place. I made a typo, I'm terribly sorry. I'll stay out of your thread now, have a day.
