scents and stats

do scents use the current stats of the purpetrator, or do they contain the stats of the perpatrator when he left the scents?

also does the difficulty in finding scents increase the more evil the scent is? i have noticed it is sometimes really difficult to find murder scents, but i can usually find the battery scent.

The stats when he left scents afaik.
I dont think scents get harder to find, that seems illogical.

I doubt I know this best though; wait a bit for people to answer.

I believe the stats stay the same, based on how all other skill/stat systems seem to work. When you create a product it applies the average of your relevant skills and attributes and is done with it; there is no reason to believe that a scent is any different than any other product created, so it is possible to infer that scents remain static once created. Scents changing as you gain stats would be akin to baked bread rising in quality as the player buys up cooking and gets more dex; while your next product will be better because of this, your current one is not going to change.

The reason you can find the battery, but not the murder, is most likely because there's multiple battery scents, and just one murder scent.

The difference between the product of the perpetrator's stealth and intelligence vs the product of the tracker's perception and exploration, determines the chances of finding the scent, the width of the pointer (larger if favoring the perpetrator), and the variance of the duration of the pointer (so far had an overall of 90 degree inaccuracy at most).
